Painting Steps
Basecoating
- • Apply Leadbelcher to all silver armor plates and the chainmail.
- • Basecoat the cloak and hood with Kantor Blue .
- • Paint the skin sections with Cadian Fleshtone .
- • Apply Retributor Armour to the shoulder trim, lantern frame, and sword hilt.
- • Use Rhinox Hide for the leather straps, scabbard, and boots.
- • Paint the skulls on the base and the hero's pedestal with Zandri Dust .
Shading and Depth
- • Apply Nuln Oil over all silver metallic areas and the deep recesses of the cloak.
- • Wash the gold and skin areas with Reikland Fleshshade to add warmth.
- • Apply Agrax Earthshade to the leather, the skulls, and the stone base.
- • Use Drakenhof Nightshade specifically in the folds of the blue cloak for deeper shadows.
Layering and Highlighting Fabric
- • Layer Alaitoc Blue onto the raised surfaces of the cloak, leaving Kantor Blue in the recesses.
- • Apply a fine edge highlight of Hoeth Blue to the sharpest folds and the edge of the hood.
- • Clean up the skin using Kislev Flesh , focusing on the brow, nose, and cheekbones.
Metallic and Leather Highlights
- • Brighten the silver armor with Ironbreaker on raised surfaces, followed by a selective spot highlight of Stormhost Silver .
- • Edge highlight the gold trim with Liberator Gold .
- • Apply thin lines of Skrag Brown to the edges of the leather straps and boots to simulate wear.
Finishing the Base and Lantern
- • Layer Ushabti Bone over the skulls, then highlight the most prominent points with Screaming Skull .
- • For the lantern glass, use a mix of White Scar #FFFFFF and a tiny amount of Hoeth Blue to create a glowing effect.
- • Drybrush the stone base with Dawnstone #A1A6A9 (Standard) to finish the environment.
