Painting Steps
Priming and Base Fur
- • Prime the model with Wraithbone or Grey Seer spray for a bright foundation.
- • Apply Zandri Dust to the feline lower body and tail.
- • Shade the fur with Seraphim Sepia , concentrating on the underside and joints.
- • Drybrush with Ushabti Bone to define fur texture.
- • Use Rhinox Hide to paint small spots on the hind legs to mimic a leopard pattern.
Painting the Green Plumage
- • Basecoat the head and upper body feathers with Warpstone Glow .
- • Layer the mid-sections of the feathers with Moot Green .
- • Highlight the very tips and edges of the green feathers with a mix of Moot Green and Flash Gitz Yellow .
- • Apply a final extreme highlight of pure Flash Gitz Yellow on the crest and chest feathers.
Wing Gradients and Accents
- • Base the outer wing feathers with Thousand Sons Blue .
- • Blend Ahriman Blue into Temple Guard Blue towards the feather tips.
- • Apply Mephiston Red to the underside wing feathers and the tips of the head crest.
- • Highlight the red tips with Evil Sunz Scarlet for a fiery contrast.
Beak, Face, and Talons
- • Paint the beak and talons with Abaddon Black .
- • Layer the top of the beak with Mechanicus Standard Grey , blending it into the black.
- • Add fine scratches and highlights to the beak and talons with Dawnstone .
- • Paint the eyes with a tiny dot of Mephiston Red , followed by a smaller dot of Flash Gitz Yellow for a glowing look.
Gold Details and Base
- • Paint the claw guard and coins on the base with Retributor Armour .
- • Wash the gold areas with Reikland Fleshshade .
- • Highlight the edges of the gold with Liberator Gold .
- • Paint the rocks on the base with Mechanicus Standard Grey and wash with Agrax Earthshade.
